Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

I assume the church community owns a forest that they manage or have managed. Here in SH by the way similar prices: in 2022 for 30€/Rm net and for logging Jan/Feb 2023 ordered at 33€/Rm. - free way on 5-9m and 30-40 cm diameter and for each 30 Rm. You still have to saw, store, split, store, carry, but then it’s under 2.5 ct / kWh. New customers are no longer accepted at most forestry offices here and "small consumers" also pay more and are supplied on a subordinate basis.

A bit about construction (ancillary) costs:
- Archaeologist (required by development plan, demolition of old building from the 1960s in an area with 50 houses from the same era) - 1000 euros because there are "earthworks"...
- Dismantling electricity, gas: 1647 euros
- Conversion of water to construction water: 1040 euros
- Installation of construction electricity 1020 euros

Yes, the construction (additional) costs can really be quite something!! Although I haven’t yet heard of having to involve an archaeologist. Were there perhaps rare finds or something similar in the neighborhood?

In my gas boiler, there is an antifreeze program active that kicks in when it is below 3°C outside and after the antifreeze delay (6h) has elapsed. So as long as the valves of the rooms are open, the heating circuits of the rooms also get warm, even if the rooms are sufficiently warm due to the fireplace. I have now completely deactivated the heating circuit in the settings. Since then, it has been quiet.

To say something about your consumption, more information is needed. How much living space, energetic condition of the house, which room temperature, which flow temperature. Then it could probably be assessed a bit better. Depending on the living area and insulation, 6m³ a day during the heating period does not sound too much.
