I'm going to the hardware store now to buy building materials as investments =D Just kidding, but this kind of development is anything but healthy. How often is it said to create "affordable housing," but I can understand the dealers selling their stuff where it gets the most money. The local builder then gets left empty-handed and has to play along with the whole thing or give up entirely.

Some sort of regulation would be appropriate here, first to cover national demand and then the international market.

For comparison: Our developer has therefore increased the prices for the still available semi-detached houses (incl. land) by €30,000 since we bought at the end of January (559k->589k). Last year, the same houses on equally sized building plots, but without forest share, still cost €489k.

Well, times are just completely crazy, and one price indicator after another is completely off the charts. It's hardly asset inflation. I also wonder where all the containers come from to ship the wood to the USA. And why it should still be profitable, since the price behaves the same way.

That's right, containers have become insanely expensive. It is now said to be worthwhile to transport empty containers to Asia.
