My personal opinion on this: It should not be their job, but it has become so and will increasingly be in the future. We will need real scientists who specialize in public communication. Much more than today "on the side" because the necessary expertise cannot possibly be present in politics. Otherwise, we will slowly but surely drown in the filth that increasingly covers the undoubtedly existing pearls in social networks. My concern is that freedom of speech will eventually suffocate itself because it produces too much nonsense. Moderation is necessary, and I do not see that the necessary expertise exists in politics, nor that it will ever get there.Not even that of science.
Why do I have the impression that these people are only brought up when it’s about opposing something that people themselves don’t want? And not when it’s about supporting these social classes? The tradesmen I know don’t worry about an electric car mandate, but rather that builders prefer to order components like windows, tiles, bathtubs cheaply on the internet and have them installed by Eastern European amateurs or exploited tradesmen. Or the butcher who is in competition with the discount store?I want to put the really extreme opinions aside. I agree with you on that. Fanatics can and should stay on the sidelines. For me, it’s much more about the many millions of people from the trades and similar fields. Who have to work hard every day for accommodation, food, and health. There is very little time and energy to realize that measures (whatever they may be) for example for climate protection are necessary. And it is the very task of politics to reach out to these people and involve them. To perceive and take their fears seriously. And to take appropriate measures so that the small family does not suddenly have to pay 200€ heating costs per month for the 80sqm apartment. What we see here on the last pages, we see everywhere in society and politics. And that is simply wrong. If we label people as uneducated and exclude them from public discourse, everyone loses. By the way, these are exactly the people who form the backbone of society.
