Defensive offer. That’s not standard – you’ll probably get realistic offers from 90% of the companies.

Also not standard – you get charged for that by a craftsman. Underground cable = digging.

Of course ;)

That's great. DIY is always cheaper. But the thing is, not everyone can be a craftsman and work elsewhere, so they rely on a professional. If everyone avoids the professional, a large occupational group dies out.

The point is that as a craftsman I couldn't earn that much money per unit of time, so the specialist should do it, and I do what I am particularly good at.

I see the problem more as the fact that soon it will hardly be possible to find a specialist anymore. Not for money or good words. The waiting lists are getting longer and longer. And those who can no longer help themselves in the end can no longer afford anything either.

In short, a shortage of skilled workers. The older colleagues are retiring and whatever comes after can be forgotten. Well, with 60 percent of students studying, no wonder.

Many things for me were simply born out of necessity and I had to take action. Unfortunately, I was and still am not in a situation to come home with a large salary. As I said, I am a master craftsman and you only earn 1600 euros net there.

But since we had built our house ourselves, there were still free financial capacities. So during our construction phase, we even saved money. Since we were still looking for a source of income due to our financial situation, we found a rental house with 10 apartments.
The rental yield was around 35 percent. So a gift from heaven, so to speak. We then financed it, well, it was only 50,000 euros.
Today we have paid everything off. The house, the rental house, and we are financially free. No millstone around the neck.

I still only earn 1500 euros. And now, of course, the rental income. My working day is short, stress-free, and relaxed. That was also my goal.

I just want to point this out when people here throw themselves into debt with huge sums. When you hear people squander their high income, it really makes you sick.

That reminds me of a saying.

You become rich from what you don’t spend.

That sounds a bit pompous.

Some people just work in a job less than you and earn triple - so why shouldn’t they have their house built?

We are about to start the work for our flat roof construction with an additional recessed floor (approx. 140 m² total area). The roofing offers, if anyone is even interested, are completely unrealistic. The architect's estimate from half a year ago was 35k. The few offers we have received are at 60k. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the price increases are "only" 8%, and even wholesalers indicate material price increases of 5 - 10% (Bauder) online. Where does this discrepancy come from?
