From when on is someone considered native? My husband, for example, comes from a third country (Australia), immigrated here, does (still) not have citizenship, and works full-time here. Is he okay or should he be kicked out? Is he allowed to receive child benefits for our joint, mixed-nationality children? Parental allowance? I have asked this question to so many people (also directly, in real life), and the answer was always "no, he’s okay, I have nothing against him." Really? That’s not called conviction, that’s called racism.

Favored? No. I would find equal treatment totally okay. Currently, foreigners are sometimes harshly disadvantaged in the real estate market. Try finding an apartment in Berlin with an Arabic-sounding last name. If you're lucky, you might be allowed to join the mass viewing and look at the apartment, which then goes to someone who needs SPF 50 sunscreen in the summer.

The fact is that in Germany the name doesn't matter at all because expensive properties in our metropolises like Berlin, Cologne, etc., are bought up by wealthy foreigners (whether EU or non-EU) simply because they want a safe investment for their assets. And the ordinary locals, the "normals," are left out in the cold on this issue because this government couldn't care less about it!! And THAT is the reality and NOT racism!!!

For me, they are exactly as much a problem because they use benefits from the statutory insurance that they have never paid into and also have to compete with locals in the housing market who are also receiving citizen’s allowance. And the traffic light coalition really does EVERYTHING to further divide the population.
