Would someone like to have a hearty laugh again? Here about our Federal Minister for Construction:

In view of the challenges of climate change, Geywitz also brought up, alongside the promotion of energetic building and renovation, the necessity of flexibly changeable living space.

“You can, for example, build houses from the start with the possibility of separation, so that in the case the children move out, one lives in one half and rents out the other,” said the minister.

So fire protection, sound insulation, heat meters, second bathroom, second kitchen, second entrance and separate stairwell as well as second terrace or balcony should be planned accordingly so that Ms. Geywitz does not lose face due to the declining completion numbers ;) . Oh yes, don’t forget the additionally to be proven parking spaces and the floor area ratio – such little things apparently are no longer taught in political science studies, how can that be?

It will probably be just the same as with other ministerial offices. In other words, where a foreign minister never has to have heard of diplomacy, a defense minister does not need military knowledge and expertise, and so on and so forth..... Sad but true.

Yes, for the bathroom cabinet I did that with a laminate offcut. For the kitchen I was too lazy. Because of the cassettes I would have to saw a very narrow piece and I thought it would work like this too. We'll see, at the moment I'm finishing two cabinets every weekend (three handles per cabinet). Maybe I will manage it on the first try by the last one. :D

It’s not just a problem with politicians. People constantly show up here who later want to share their house and are told for the first time that it’s not that simple and especially not without making many compromises now. As the responsible minister, one should really deal with the topic... I consider the idea of the jack-of-all-trades house to be a dead end anyway. It would be much more important to reduce the 10-12% incidental purchase costs so that moving to a new house is actually affordable. And also to create attractive offers with gardens, etc. for older people instead of just apartments with a tiny balcony.

If your quote is correct, then it says "...can," not MUST. What is so wrong about this way of thinking that a dispute about the politicians’ qualifications has to be started here? Whoever has the money for this long-term way of thinking might later be at an advantage because he/she actually has an alternative to possible renting or even selling. At the latest when the children have left the house, some homeowners wish for a change in their living situation (e.g. through smaller living space).
