I find these philosophical, social, economic, and ecological discussions highly interesting! Moreover, they take place here in the forum at a higher level than regularly in the pub / at the regulars' table. We do have such conversations in part at the breakfast table, but on it there are cold cuts/spreads in plastic packaging, the electric car plus motorhome with a smelly diesel (Fiat Ducato, just recently found out it has a 20-fold inflated value ...) are parked outside the door. Almost none of us makes sacrifices. Some of my favorite expressions: island of the blessed (by which I mean Europe), "money is just a number in the account," and "it's just nicely printed paper." With this I want to express: we can afford it, so we throw money at consumer goods we like to have but certainly do not necessarily need. If not everyone does it!, that is, really implements it and does not make excuses that as an individual you cannot change anything anyway, nothing will change! And yes, I am "up there" with it.
