On the one hand, you say that soon there will hardly be any "good" craftsmen left, on the other hand you advertise self-performance without craftsmen. How are new craftsmen supposed to come if everyone does everything themselves? Somehow a vicious circle, right? We (my wife and I) are the group that awards everything. And believe me, the regional general contractors do not make a killing. After all, they bear entrepreneurial risk and have to pay their employees. Besides, there is enough competition on the market so you can simply compare. I have also not yet seen the CEO of a construction company fly into space :)

Don't get me wrong. My point is only that someone can and must reduce their individual construction costs. Some don't have to, money simply doesn't matter to them. Others might have to take different routes. The shortage of skilled workers will increase in the future and the capacities already available will further decline. This has nothing to do with personal labor. I might be a bit different in this regard and have my own ideas. But I also sometimes go to Poland to get building materials. Significantly cheaper and better. I've also been to the Czech Republic. There are always ways to save.

Do you have tips for Poland, tiles, and laminate? Possibly also furniture?

But how is it possible that you, as a master craftsman, only earn 1600 net, when all craftsmen can demand unlimited margins?

Does it simply take some time until it becomes known that craftsmen earn royally, or is that not the case after all?

You don't understand:

But an employee in Düsseldorf can't manage that.
It's all well and good if you are skilled at handiwork and have free time during the day, but that is the exception, not the norm.
