I don't think it's that extreme. In Germany, approximately 100,000 residential buildings are completed annually. 50,000 applications would then be 50% of the annual constructed buildings that would have to be applied for at once, assuming EVERYONE would apply for the subsidy. I can't imagine that.

100,000 buildings or 100,000 housing units? As far as I remember, about 3/4 of the approved KfW applications were for apartment buildings. It is already lucrative for the developer to build a multi-family house with 10 residential units of 50 sqm each, and the subsidy is granted per residential unit.

Also true again. :/ According to Statista, 100k residential buildings, of which rather about 16k single-family houses.

I still hope to be under 3k per sqm... after all, it's very very rural without being anywhere near the commuter belt...

LOL forget it, there’s rather an extra charge. Currently, everyone tries to swoop in like a vulture and make a profit. To get the biggest piece of the pie.
