Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

First of all, a 3-month temporary supply is scheduled. The prices can be really bad during this time. If the supply contract still has a term, simply object to the price increase. See the consumer advice center.

Temporary supply? I thought after cancellation you automatically go into the basic supply? Does that also run through ENBW?

The general tenor is that the energy supplier cannot keep one in the substitute supply but must transfer to the basic supply upon request. From the consumer advice centers: However, you can switch from the substitute supply to the basic supply at any time by declaring your explicit will. That means: You must contact your basic supplier and inform them of this. It is best to do this in writing. Senec has now also increased their prices with us. From January 1, 2023, from €38.95 per month to €70.95 for 2,500 kWh cloud usage.

The gas price increase starting from 1.1. came today, as the price cap expires. Working price: from 7.3ct to 18.62ct.....ouch.

For us, it was retroactively reduced from just under 20 to 15ct/kWh as of 10/1. But we only used 5.5m³ in the last 6 weeks anyway, so it's negligible.

For us, this is the last winter mostly using gas. In that respect, it is bearable for us now, especially since the [Gas Price Cap] is supposed to come soon. But with the prices, it is no longer possible to save enough gas to keep the installment affordable. For me, the reasonable limit is 100€ per month. From January, we will then have to pay about 140€, which is more than twice as much as currently and really hurts. We don’t even consume much. We haven’t even turned on the heating yet (but it will be installed tomorrow). Less than 18 degrees is really too extreme for me in the long run.
