Everyone with oil also has a time problem if the current prices are an issue. With gas, you get the hammer next year with the bill, after the winter. Unless an advance payment is increased now. But with oil, the tanks must be filled before winter so that you can heat. So you need the money now or during the course of the winter. Depending on the fill level and size of the tanks, you can bridge more or less or refuel later at night or similar. But you cannot operate the heating if the money has not been provided (in advance). Friends of ours live in a poorly insulated old building and have an annual consumption of about 3000 liters. Even if they refueled early, that currently simply amounts to well over €4000. They need it before March or so.

For everyone, the situation is bad...

On Saturday, a customer came towards me in the hardware store (Hagebau) with an estimated 20 bags of pellets on the cart. Must have been the last bargain of the year? Or a panic buy?

In the end, the problem is also that no brake and no payment of money will provide oil, gas, pellets, electricity anymore. For this purpose, tens of billions of special "funds" are borrowed, which either have to be repaid or inflated away in the coming years. The former restricts future room for maneuver. The latter will drive us even deeper, because that assumes that inflation solidifies. Have fun with that.

I have to admit that I am not deeply versed in the subject of what exactly is capped, but in my opinion, no one in this forum should actually benefit. We cannot afford the watering can with the big bang permanently. Those who are in need must be urgently helped. The rest have no claim to full coverage. At least that's what I think.
