Nonsense, I just read an article today about why now is the time for new oil heating systems. It was from Focus, Welt or something like that... It was really... uh... "interesting" to read that nonsense.

Well, it depends on how you see it. Friends with oil heating systems are glad about them because they can buy oil (and have long since filled up) and then have it safely stored in the basement for the winter.

The point is that the claim that the house must be worth twice as much at 4% interest as at 2% interest only holds if you choose an unreasonably low initial repayment. Only then, and even then only approximately. The statement is simply nonsense mathematically.

As I said, no year of manufacture was stated. It will be older than 5 years, but in my world that is still quite new.

Until about 10 years ago, oil heating systems were still installed quite often, at least in rural areas where there is no gas connection. Whether that is still considered almost new now is a matter of debate. As a buyer, I wouldn't consider a 10-year-old house new anymore, but my car will soon be 9 and is still almost new ;)
