We could probably have built differently. But we have some overhangs and a facade that is almost completely glazed, on the ground floor with floor-to-ceiling windows. So the structural engineer definitely got headaches!

I would also like to see the house introduced here sometime. Luckily, we are finished building. We have over 100 tons of steel and a lot of concrete. Today, the house would certainly be twice as expensive…
that is really a lot. I just checked. In my small [BP] with just under 75m², 994Kg of steel in various forms were used at a price of 1840€ net. That was in October 2020. For that, the [BP] was 30 strong, so a bit more concrete than "usual"
So 5-8 tons for a single-family house I had read several times. We are still getting foundations so I assume 10 tons. If the price is currently at 2k/ton that would be 20k just for the steel. Where was the price a year ago?
