Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

Nice topic change, the child construction allowance is a questionable measure. The individual measures can be questioned as more or less sensible. The blanket whining about always being disadvantaged as a taxpayer when the money does not flow directly back to oneself is odd. That is an achievement and I hope it was worth it for you. I finance public evening schools with my tax money and do not feel in the slightest disadvantaged for not having used them myself. I successfully dropped out of a business administration degree and am grateful for the unused opportunity that still helped me move forward. Well said! The goal that this is practically open to everyone in life has not yet been reached, but we have already come a long way.

You didn’t have to specifically confirm that you dropped out of business administration studies. By the way: did it say anywhere that I attended publicly funded evening schools?

No, that was nowhere stated and it wouldn't be important to me either. I have respect for people who consistently take control of their own lives and proceed purposefully. For whatever reasons, some people are not given that, and I am glad to live in a society that does not want to abandon these people and invests in them. Sometimes this investment pays off directly, sometimes it does not. Overall, the principle is correct, although the execution sometimes appears bizarre.

It is bizarre when one calls other political ways of thinking bizarre. If you are okay with us being a country with the highest taxes and levies, if you believe that this does not lead to any international competitive disadvantages, if you think that the performance principle is not restricted by the redistribution machinery – then just vote for the SPD! At least you have something like a unique selling point if you feel affiliated with splinter groups.

That would be completely OK if we had the happiest inhabitants for it, but we do not. In terms of the tax system, I see enormous need for reform, but that is another topic. Success is always a combination of effort and luck. Successful people like to ignore that, in addition to their efforts, things also went well. Success stories can be best told backwards, as found in numerous biographies. I am very much in favor of rewarding performance. At the same time, I strongly believe that misfortune that prevents performance should not have a full impact. It does not bother me in the slightest that people have different financial resources and opportunities. What does bother me is that many people can no longer support a family on their wages without having to rely on additional benefits and are socially left behind. If a policy aims to change this grievance and invests financial resources for it, I consider that not only right but a societal obligation. Without contributions from the particularly wealthy, this is not possible. If you mean that by "redistribution" – I am in favor of it. Unfortunately, motives are hard to distinguish, because I reject redistribution out of envy. I am a swing voter and will vote for a change this time, because too long government terms by one party in a democracy establish too many shady areas that one inevitably stumbles over. At present, I do not recognize a party in which I really see myself again. In any case, construction costs are not the most urgent problem, although for many here very acute and immediate.

When it comes to politics, I agree with you. At the early days of the AfD and with Lucke, I even voted for them. Now unthinkable with that bunch. Otherwise, I actually switched between FDP and CDU. This time I wanted to vote for the Greens. However, I do not want an intern to lead Germany. That is why I will decide shortly before the election.
