But what do you want to say with that? Why is Habeck to blame if people built a house 40 years ago and no longer had room for reserves? Look at the financing threads here in the forum. Every couple wanting to build is told: The pure installment is not enough, you also have to factor in that such a house won't stay new forever. Build maintenance reserves. It wasn't different in the past. If after 15 years your Opel can no longer pass the TÜV and you missed saving for a new car, is Habeck also to blame? I really can't listen to this anymore.

Well, the comparison with the car is a bit off. If no reserves were built for a new car, you simply can’t buy a new one or have to buy an old, used one according to your budget. Theoretically, the owner who hasn’t built up reserves just has to live with a house in need of renovation or buy a used equivalent heating system in case of a heating breakdown, according to their budget. But if, for example, one is forced to install a new heat pump, that would be like being forced, in your car comparison, to buy a specific new car that you can’t afford at all.

You don't insulate your new build after 10 years. Rather, if at all, after 20 years or later, and you can easily work with the standards from the late 90s or earlier 2000s. At the end of the day, the maintenance reserve simply wasn't high on the priority list; people often preferred to buy a more expensive car or go on vacation. And somehow, the current government is blamed for the renovation backlog.

It would probably be a bit too dark/cold for me, but in the end, it’s just a matter of taste? We currently have graphite gray in the bathroom and kitchen of our rental apartment. I quite like it there, but I don’t need it in more areas (the rest has mosaic parquet).

Absolutely no light-colored floor tiles anymore, especially not in traffic areas. We made that mistake. We should actually mop every day. The way the floor looks here, one should take a spotty gray-brown.

Seriously, if you're not already very dark everywhere else, take graphite. If all the furniture is already dark, I would think twice.

In my opinion, it’s not a matter of light/dark, but how even the color tone is. Generally, I find darker tiles more prone to showing every speck of dust.
