Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

This is really getting ridiculous, if one weren’t so dependent on it. Just for fun I checked at Hornbach in my area (Leipzig): 3.95 euros for 2m KG DN110, but nowhere in stock. Except in Chemnitz. They have 258 pieces stocked o_O

Just checked at toom, 7€ for the 2m pipe and in stock at my store. Hm.

Here in the hardware store 3.95 and available.

The approx. 1.5m³ UK wood that I ordered about 6 weeks ago (and received) has, according to my wooden house builder, just now doubled in value. Somehow construction prices and cryptocurrencies are currently moving reciprocally to each other. If only I had speculatively hoarded building materials ...

... I still have two OSB boards in the basement..... Maybe I should turn them into cash now... Just kidding.... Somehow, an insane number of areas are affected. Not just in construction. An acquaintance who works in plumbing won't be able to do anything soon because they can't get any material there either. In the hardware sector, there are also some things that are no longer available. Today we wanted to shop for a guinea pig cage... Many models are currently no longer available.

Yes, it is really about time that people can waste their money on vacations and dining out again :D
