Do you still commute daily? In the cases I know, on the one hand, there is a big city salary with which one can live really well in the sticks, but additionally, there are arguments like grandparents for childcare on site or other local ties to the place of residence.

How often per week do you have to make the trip?

Daily, yes. Sometimes I am assigned to different locations. Sometimes for weeks it is only 90 km one way, sometimes 150, sometimes 162. I always buy new, but inexpensive vehicles without much equipment, which I change every year. I don’t like breakdowns. With the last vehicle I had a depreciation of 900 euros over 42,000 km :-)))).

As described, you can roughly classify me.

Wow. The 90km already seem little :D But everything seems to be fine with you. Driving 4 hours daily and working 8 hours (and thus at least 12 hours every day away from home) is definitely not the model of the future. So for me personally (!!) still incomprehensible even in today's situation.

You have to like that! That's why I say: If so many commuters now live 100 km away from the metropolis where they work, just to be able to own property, then something like that definitely also costs time in life.

The good thing about it: On the long way home, you actually relax, so you happily arrive at home!

That really cannot be the model of the future. Where are the locals, living on site, supposed to move to? Who mostly also earn significantly less.
