I understand your irony but we are talking about an extension without much equipment. The house has no controlled residential ventilation or anything else. What used to be considered luxury a few years ago is now more like minimal equipment.

You are seeing it wrong - this is supposed to create an incentive for both parents not to be out of work for so long. If the daycare also costs (a lot of) money, you prefer to stay at home right away. At least 2 years, rather more.

I believe the Japanese basically have a different mentality. The social environment educates there. However, I don't want that here any more than Singaporean measures.

How quickly a yield curve can change is currently very clearly seen in the USA. The real estate market there is basically on the ground after interest rates for 30-year mortgage loans have risen to 6.13 percent.

Thus, interest rates there have roughly doubled since the beginning of the year. In Germany, however, they have tripled. There is no end in sight.

That will brutally affect rental prices, won't it? A) less construction b) more people, less living space c) those who build have to rent higher due to increased financing costs Is that really good for anyone?

Well, the homeownership rate in the USA has decreased from 68 to 61 percent since the 2008 financial crisis. The homeownership rate will likely decrease again in Germany as well.
