But I probably leave an impression on you, that's good. I, on the other hand, don't even remember whether you're building new or bought. Do you even have a house?

Got it. Still, the two posts are as different as day and night. Yesterday, one could have gotten the impression that you built the house alone, seeing how everyone admired you for your own work ;)

Yep. At first it says that from May 1945 everyone ordered their house ready to move in, then it says today no one does anything themselves anymore because everyone is just an academic, then it says that only in parallel worlds someone builds a house without own effort.

I don’t recognize any of my houses in that.

Anyone who searches for "KfW Chief sees no real estate crisis – despite falling prices" will find a quite interesting interview. From it:

Attention is also drawn to the stark regional differences – I can quite understand that after a look at the current clearance sales of large developers. For the money that a mid-terrace house from the 80s/90s is sold here for, you can get a new semi-detached house elsewhere with underfloor heating, heat pump, and bells and whistles.

Oh come on, I did all that, including concrete work, electrical, excavation work, and so on and so forth. It just sometimes doesn’t make sense timewise/financially, like with plastering or screed. Almost everyone here acts as if DIY work is rocket science. But yes, you do have to manage/ want to manage the coordination of the dependent trades. We did DIY work in all trades, sometimes more sometimes less, otherwise the place would have been too expensive. It did cost 2 years of life though ;-)
