What kind of house is it (year built, square meters)?

It annoys me that I can’t really calculate what we will consume. In April we had 750 kWh, then about 350 kWh per month. No idea what we will need in winter. But we will also use the fireplace every day. The energy certificate indicated 130 kWh.

200sqm, built in 1930, slight roof and interior insulation from Anno Dazumal. About 20% buffer is included (discount on 120% of last year's consumption), so that we always get something back and don't have to pay extra.

Addendum: Just as a comparison to the new buildings / "new old buildings": With the old house, we have 21 degrees room temperature during the day and 16 degrees at night at about 140kWh/a/m², so about 28,000kWh / year. Gas heating is from 2016, radiators are standard, valves programmed.

Are the gas prices really correct? You really go broke with old buildings with over 200kwh/m2

What do you mean by that? You can take a look at a price comparison or the basic supply. It will hardly be possible to get below 20c/kWh, with 20,000 kWh/year you end up at 4000€ or more. And of course, some will have a pretty nasty awakening who bought an old house in 2020 and skipped the energy-efficient renovation...

Yeah, the posts with 5000-6000 euros etc. are really bad... My best buddy switched from oil to gas a month ago and now has to pay 400 euros advance. I fear it will be more, hence the question. House from 1975, not insulated, windows were replaced 5 years ago
