There are plenty of plants that can cope with dryness, including native ones, and they also look good. There are enough people who pour gravel on so that it is dry enough for these plants. Dryness itself is not the problem, but water-hungry plants during dryness and large unshaded open spaces. Watering is really only necessary in the vegetable garden and during the establishment phase (which can sometimes take longer with trees).When I looked at how the plants at the edge of the field looked that didn’t get any water, I know that I wouldn’t have wanted my garden to look like that.
