Not yet. However, we would have the option to change the project for a fee. Whether they approve that, I of course do not know.

Unfortunately, no one can say what the future will look like... But if you look towards the two traffic light parties, single-family houses in new developments probably face hard times... I can well imagine that municipalities will be allowed to designate fewer/no new areas for single-family houses anymore... then the price for dilapidated old buildings will rise to new heights since there will be no other way to build a single-family house except by demolishing an existing one :/

Is there such a thing on the market? They are more likely to be sold off the record. That set off alarm bells for me. And you still have to make compromises.

If that's the case, then that would finally be the right direction. In our area, the village centers are dying, vacancies everywhere, and around them new development areas are being built merrily. It's a crazy world. In one town, the mayor recorded dozens of vacant houses. Currently, the 4th new development area is being built there in the shortest time. That's perverse.

So I have to say, before I would quit now, I would take the risk. We are also working with a general contractor and only pay according to progress. But since we still have a fixed price, it’s easy for me to say. In any case, I would recommend the following to you: Build as far as the budget allows with the general contractor. If you notice that it’s getting tight, finish it yourself or with direct contracts. I think with that, the construction should definitely be possible.

I can also tell you exactly why - The municipality does not want to change or loosen the existing development plan... If I spend a total of 600k, then I specify the knee wall height, roof shape, and window shape, not the X-year-old development plan; those times are over - the list can be extended indefinitely - Garden in the town center is little to none - Possibly no fiber optic etc. - In the new development area usually all from the same generation - Try building in your mid-20s in an area where the average age is otherwise 70+... You won't be happy...
