Gas cannot be pumped through pipelines in any arbitrary quantity. China would have to take more than double to compensate for Germany's outages. Technically not feasible. Gas production cannot simply be stopped, so gas that is not sold must be flared. Oil and coal can be much more easily traded and sold on the world market, in contrast to natural gas. Germany has massive problems without gas, and so does Russia.

So, and now off to the favorite forum, that's more about tangible things. Hated by banks and financial advisors.

Oh, those are Russia's smallest problems. It would be more of a German issue. The gas contracts run until 2030 and have to be paid. Regardless of whether anyone takes gas here or not. Then the Russians sell it elsewhere and cash in twice. The Chinese are happy.

As I have written before, after the sanctions, including on milk from the EU, Russia built up milk production within 2 years and thus went from a milk importer to one of the largest milk exporters in the world. That turned out very badly for the EU.

And the same goes for oil and gas. Russia's national debt is 13 billion. Germany's is 7 trillion including all pension obligations, which will surely also vanish into thin air. Those are worthless promises in paper money.,
