The Isar Pravda reports that Habeck has been defeated within the coalition regarding insulation standards for new buildings.
“Habeck currently proposes in his draft law to require better insulation according to the so-called Efficiency House 55 standard starting next year. However, this regulation is now to be overturned at the request of the FDP during the parliamentary process, with the traffic light parties planning to submit an amendment to the Bundestag on Thursday. Accordingly, the previous insulation regulations from 2009 would remain in place. The draft law is scheduled to be passed on the same day according to the agenda.”
According to the SPD and FDP, this would prevent construction costs from rising too sharply.
If building with ETICS, the discussion is ridiculous. It basically concerns 2 cm more or less insulation on the wall.
Such a tightening, however, is slowly turning the tap off for monolithic construction. KFW 55 is still manageable, but after tightening, there's always more tightening and at KFW 40, the air gets thin for Poroton and aerated concrete. Thick wall constructions are the result and it also becomes significantly more expensive compared to ETICS.
