As far as I know, they mainly come from Africa, yes. South America is not ecologically better either.

There is an interesting documentary about tulips and cut flowers from Africa. Stückpreis.cent area. Every day, millions of flowers are shipped by a Dutch company. Of course, this must also be viewed critically; the water consumption in this region has probably increased rapidly. However, the people have jobs and a future because of it.

Actually, you have something to say on every topic here, don't you? On which topic would you actually keep your mouth shut? Sorry for this direct wording....

Hello,

There are studies that calculate that flying in tulips and roses from Kenya is more ecological than heating the greenhouses in Holland! How accurate that is, I cannot currently assess.

Best regards,

Andreas

Heated greenhouses are also bad, unless heated with renewable energy.
I did not want to start a discussion about roses here, I just wanted to say that for €112 he could do something better with his wife. But of course, that is up to each individual.

Hi,

I can confirm that for at least two of my nephews. One finally got his driver’s license at 19, but he doesn't dare to drive, especially not on the highway... (because it’s so dangerous there and everyone drives so fast). The car bought for him was sold after one year with spider webs on the wheels. Even today, at 22, his dad still drives him from the eastern Ruhr area to his university near the Dutch border, because he doesn’t want to take the train either. And the other one has been trying to get his driver’s license for 2 years (!!!) now (he doesn’t like his driving instructor, so he has no motivation), meanwhile he is 19 and is also driven everywhere by his parents...

Good grief, I never thought I’d say something like this, but there seems to be some truth in all the talk about the pampered youth.

Best regards,

Andreas
