Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

While we're on the subject of CO2... wasn't there someone from Australia here or do they have family there? A flight Sydney and back from Frankfurt, about 11t CO2 per person. 20,000 kWh natural gas (for the average household) a good 4t. To put it into perspective. A new building of 150m² has about 10,000 kWh natural gas demand...

You really appreciate the low CO2 footprint of your own house. Only about 1/5 of a long-haul flight! But does that include the heated basement as well?

Especially since the 10,000 kWh is for 4 people... 4 people to Australia... 44t CO2. For that, you heat the house with gas for 20 years.

Can you finally name the narratives CONCRETELY?

You should trust experts on a scientific level because they have more to offer than experts on a social-scientific level. Namely direct evidence for hypotheses. In the other case, there are at best statistical studies, at worst playing subjective value judgments against the rules of logic.

I am open to discussion. But how on earth am I supposed to restore the “trust”? I simply can’t. I do what is maximally possible: argue logically consistent based on facts and name the origin of the facts. Nothing more is possible. Never was. Never will be. If that is not enough for someone, I can’t help them. Nobody can help them.

If you can’t judge things, you also can’t judge whether they are wrong or being instrumentalized. But you do this continuously.
My sincerely meant requests for concretization could give you clues from which you could proceed. If you want that. Personally, I believe this is exactly where the problem lies: You don’t want to put your dearly held prejudices to the test.

By the way, here we can see very clearly how statements by scientists in public are confused with science itself, which then has its trust withdrawn.
Or citing science by third parties is blamed on science itself, which in turn destroys trust in science.

For those proficient in English, I urgently recommend the rant by Sabine Hossenfelder: “Follow the science? Nonsense, I say.“

To be found on Youtube with the keywords “Hossenfelder follow the science”

An eye-opener for those wondering what I am talking about.

I was also mentioned here, where it was about the faction of not entirely compliant system drones.

Basically, as of today, I am doing quite well. Actually, I have nothing to complain about. Still, I have never conformed. Neither in the GDR nor today. I can think and decide very well for myself.

Last night, we philosophized a bit in a small group. As is known, I live in Saxony-Anhalt in a small village. Very idyllic, by the way. Quiet and stress-free. So far so good.

On my street, a statistically completely sufficient microcosm, 18 people live in various households. 2 of them still work and are value-creating. That is the farmer next door and me. The rest live off the state or the taxes that the two of us pay. These are retirees, parents on parental leave, unemployed people or citizens receiving basic income, and 1 civil servant from the district office. No migrants, there are virtually none here.

This is not a reproach, just a statement.

A red-green government wants to defeat the Russians. At first, we delivered protective helmets. Then light and then heavy ammunition. Then there were rifles, later self-propelled howitzers. Then followed light Marder tanks, followed by Gepard tanks for air defense. Some time later a few Leopard tanks, now more than 30 Leopards. Currently, we want to deliver IRIS T and Patriot air defense systems. The British delivered Himars with short-range ammunition and now with long-range. In addition, Storm Shadow long-range missiles and uranium-enriched ammunition. Fighter jets were also delivered, initially from old Soviet-era stocks. Now F16 fighter jets are to be delivered. They will no longer be flown by Ukrainian pilots.

Olaf Scholz wants to personally monitor that German weapons do not directly attack Russia.

Despite all the discussion, we are on a direct path to a large war with Russia. Except for a few lateral thinkers and Nazis like me, only a few contemporaries warn against this war. Maybe they will really only wake up when they or their children have to march to war towards the East. And no, Robert Habeck will not fight on the front. He has already announced that.

On 09.03.2023, near Lviv, the NATO headquarters in Ukraine was destroyed by Russian missiles. The bunker was considered indestructible and was located at a depth of 120 m. About 300 NATO officers were killed.

Yesterday, on 13.05, a NATO ammunition depot in western Ukraine was destroyed. Probably all the ammunition for the Leopard tanks, the newly delivered British long-range missiles, and almost all western ammunition stocks in Ukraine were destroyed.

What is NATO doing there? Why these enormous stockpiles of weapons?

How many IRIS T air defense systems does the Bundeswehr have? None at all. The federal government as well as the budget committee have to decide first. Ukraine will soon have 6 such systems. From Germany.

We can talk and write about this for hours. There is a call to storm Russia. And it will come. There are no more red lines. There will be an alliance case of some kind and soon German soldiers will march eastward again. If the people here don’t get reasonable soon.

Okay, but what do we do with this now? That climate change is partly man-made? Very likely true. That we have triggered certain processes that amplify climate change and that we can hardly stop anymore, because in order to do so we would not only have to keep the temperature stable but actually lower it? Also very likely true.

But unfortunately, it is also true that easily 6 billion people on this planet don't give a damn about it. Because they don't live in a KfW40+ house, but in a damp mud hut or with 4 people in 30m² in a high-rise. Because they cannot choose between beef, pork, or fish, but between rice, rice, or rice. Or because they also want a Mercedes instead of a tuk-tuk.

Therefore... the liter of diesel that we don't use. Someone else uses it. That's how it is.
