thanks for the info! Definitely sounds like a cool gimmick.

Unfortunately not for me. If I want to heat the whirlpool, I just heat it. When refueling, for example, a price comparison over times of day and weekdays still makes sense.

I don't want to spoil my free time by thinking 'phew, tomorrow at 10 am the electricity would be 30% cheaper.'

Still an interesting concept, I didn't know it before.

Unfortunately, the tariff is not available in every region. For example, unfortunately not for me either. I was at MM last week.

That's why I want to combine it with a battery storage - then the question of timing doesn't matter so much anymore. If this can be technically realized in the new house, I'll manage the control for it. For months with solar yield, one could even use the weather forecast to better utilize the battery.

Yes, for me as a home automation tinkerer and programmer, this is all just playing around and a hobby :)

I also find the concept quite interesting and perhaps even groundbreaking for renewable energies. I could well imagine that for us. Dishwasher, washing machine, dryer can be well scheduled accordingly. Stove and oven are already trickier.

if the goal is to save costs, a storage system only makes sense starting from electricity costs of 45 cents+
That's roughly how much the kWh of electricity fed into the storage and then taken out later costs.

In connection with photovoltaics, we should have reached this point soon.
Of course, it hardly helps in winter.

We will get there anyway. For me, it is more important to use the storage even when there is hardly any solar yield. Otherwise, the unit just stands around uselessly. So why not charge it with cheap electricity from the grid and draw from the storage during peak times. As mentioned: With daily fluctuations of 30 cents, you can also ignore the conversion losses.
