So in 2016 we paid approximately €530 net surcharge for our built-in fittings at the bathtub and €725 for the shower.

:D :D This shouldn't become a discussion about the prices of concealed fittings. The surcharges at Town & Country (and many other GCs) are already so unrealistic that they have anticipated the construction cost increases of the next decades :) But a year ago, Cindy and Maik still ordered it with a weary smile and described it as anything but social housing. Time are changing

Oh dear.... "I have no desire" Well... some things happen without desire, and irrationality and short-sightedness are just part of human nature. In many matters, it just doesn't work without certain constraints. Just give me an example where self-regulation by the population worked well on a really relevant issue.

But the topic of a speed limit has somehow a similar explosiveness in Germany as gun laws do in the US.

Well then, explain to me please
what a Sunday driving ban is supposed to be? I work all week and want to go to the mountains with my family on Sunday, which is why I live in Bavaria and pay very high prices, and then I just have to sit at home? I bought an RV, so I only drive it on Saturdays? And for what reason, please? Will it be taken into account that I drive the rest of the way with an electric car?

I am against bans.

But anyone who thinks the government is great has probably unfortunately not noticed how harmless demonstrations were banned in Munich and how censorship happens on Twitter and also in the newspapers. If you don't notice all that, you can of course stand there and say everything is great here.

A speed limit wouldn't bring what the "clever" people in the Bundestag have (had) calculated. Because in Germany, there are so many construction sites (i.e. speed limits) on the highways that the average speed is already somewhere around 100, 120? Even more accidents occur on the stretches where there is a speed limit. I believe, according to statistics, it is more dangerous to ride a bike in Berlin than on the highway, where you can really step on it. In my opinion, there are better / more worthwhile options than the speed limit (but the Greens have long had an eye on this and now that they are allowed to govern...)
