In many cases, that may be true, but depending on how expensive the storage is, how electricity prices develop in the near future, and how long the storage lasts, it can certainly be economical. In the end, everyone has to calculate that for themselves. There are, of course, also some exceptions who acquire the storage for ideological reasons :p

Regarding the storage: It may be worthwhile or not. It depends on your own consumption pattern. We are 2 people and I work from home.
What’s still on my mind: Since the storage is rather dead capital in winter, I would like to be able to charge it from the grid as well. I have a contract with Tibber and the prices there tend to vary throughout the day between 50 and 150%. The plan is to use a bit of programming (solar forecast, load curve, etc.) to fully utilize the storage.
