So you’re not a profit-maximizing entrepreneur then ;-)

Off-topic is normal here due to lack of an off-topic section, but a question about setback distances could really be posted in its own thread, right?

Just thought since it's a short question, it doesn't need its own thread... But BBO clearly states that for a roof over the terrace closer than 3m to the boundary, the neighbor must consent, that's fine

I have ordered one with 10 kWp without storage for 15k net. All inclusive. So 1500€ per kWp. I got several offers before I accepted this one.

I just got 2 solar panels at a factory outlet of a photovoltaic manufacturer. 0.82 kWhp for 260 EUR. 0.21 kW/m², not particularly good... not particularly bad... typical value. For 10 kWp, you would have paid 3,200 EUR. Of course, then you’re missing an inverter (SMA Solar 10kWp 2,100 EUR) and a 2-man team that climbs around on the roof for a day (hourly rate 120 EUR*2*10 hours = 2,400 EUR + travel 300km*0.5 EUR/km = 150 EUR)...

So. 3,200 + 2,100 + 2,400 + 150 = 7,850 EUR. We round up to 8,000 EUR and ask ourselves what the remaining 7,000 EUR is spent on.

Because neither does a solar installer charge 120 EUR/hour for his journeymen... nor does he buy the modules at the price of 130 EUR/0.41 kWp... nor does he pay the SMA Solar internet price for the inverter...

At least that’s what I assume. Because my craftsman buys his stuff from the wholesaler at good prices and not at Obi, Hornbach... or on sale at the photovoltaic manufacturer’s factory outlet...

Oh right. I’m just reading... 15k net. So we don’t ask where the remaining 7,000 EUR goes. We ask where the remaining 10,850 EUR goes. Because we’ve already paid the VAT. We bought the modules at gross prices, the SMA inverter as well. And the 2-man team likes their salary gross too...

Well, and then the transport of the modules is still missing, the wiring of the modules to the inverters, the mounting materials for the roof, the scaffolding so that the craftsmen can get onto the roof.

However, it can be observed that, in my opinion, the prices for complete packages are just becoming a bit cheaper again.

Scaffolding? Show me the solar installer who lets scaffolding be set up for 2 men for a day. That might be charged, but in the end the long ladder goes up to the roof.
