The contract was signed at the end of 2020, financing has also been in place since the beginning of the year... But now things couldn't have gone worse – our fixed price guarantee expired before the start of construction (6 months passed and no building permit yet). Now we have to nervously wait and live with the uncertainty of how badly the price increases might hit us. Is there anyone here who is also currently building and can share such an unfortunate experience? The general contractor says he first needs to secure the facts and get the new offers, but doesn’t expect the cost volume to increase drastically. Still, we are extremely worried; if there’s a 30% price increase all of a sudden, it would simply be unbearable despite the buffer.
