Someone already tried to take this route here - but the wind was quickly taken out of their sails ;)

Photovoltaics in MW:

SH: 2087 NS: 5111 MVP: 3081

Total: 10279

Bavaria: 16206

Countries that have wind can gladly spoil the landscape - countries that have sun can use it effectively instead of wind turbines that don’t turn for 20 hours a day

Gas was already politically dead two years ago. The signs point to electrification because improvements to the grid automatically affect all consumers (car, heating). If our politics were a little less ideological, plans would now be made to operate some fossil power plants only in the winter months in the future to meet electricity demand until a good storage solution is found. But we prefer to talk about when we will completely phase out coal...

Regarding wind, I also offer the following statistics from Windfinder for consideration. Building wind turbines is one thing, but they are useless when there's no wind.

Effectively using it only works to a limited extent, photovoltaics also do not generate electricity 24/7.

Regarding the numbers above: correct. Now let's look at wind power (only onshore): Lower Saxony: 11,430 MW Bavaria: 2,567 MW

So you can use any statistics you want, it just depends on which numbers you look at ;)

From my point of view, a mix of everything is best. If I have a sunny spot, there should be photovoltaics. If I constantly have a strong breeze, then probably wind is better.

… and in between a powerful transmission network. Oh wait …

Calculate the combined power of photovoltaics + wind energy in the three federal states you chose and compare it again to Bavaria.
Take into account the number of inhabitants (approximately the same) to get a feeling "per capita."
And then think again about the density of companies in this comparison.

I believe you will evaluate Mr. Söder’s diversion attempts differently afterward. At least if you care about Bavaria as a business location.
Typically conservative, one lives off the substance and misses the connection – literally.

Yup, that's what's mainly missing. However, it doesn't help if northern German prime ministers think that the grid needs to be segmented. That may play well with northern German voters, but it's the wrong direction. And with that, they are also treading on pretty thin ice, because on what grounds are tens of millions redirected from the south to the north every year? Right... equivalent living conditions. Whoever starts picking the raisins for the north also takes away the justification for such reallocations

I am strictly in favor of 10 hours for residential construction! Regarding missing the connection or being behind, just take a look at, for example, the fiscal equalization scheme among the federal states... Who here opens their wallet the widest because the economy is doing well
