, yes, of course that too. I had only read my argumentation somewhere, also generally regarding the supposed preferential treatment of civil servants compared to employees. They simply have fewer rights and in case of doubt more duties, so it is justified. There are even teachers or other public service employees who are offered civil servant status but decline precisely for those reasons.

Whether this is always done in practice is another question.

Construction power consumption from 03.03.2022 to 02.06.2022: meter reading 12727 to 14133 --> consumption: 1,406 kWh
(There may be an error in the following numbers, which just occurred to me. I am no longer sure if the "normal power" meter was already at 1555 at installation. A second number regularly blinks, which is only 2 kWh.
"Normal power" incl. operation heating/construction dryer from 03.06.2022 to 19.06.2022 (yesterday): 1555 to 1959 --> 404 kWh)

Regarding the whole debate. I find it much worse that more and more freight traffic has to go on the road because DB fails to properly plan the construction sites, resulting in significant delays. The solution is actually quite simple, even if it cannot be achieved in the short term.

1. Expand freight traffic on the rails significantly. Possibly build wider tracks (if technically possible), so that there are wagons that transport not just 1-2 containers, but 2x2. For this, significantly restrict truck freight traffic.

2. Proper and efficient construction site planning. When I see that first a lane is closed and then nothing happens for months. This constant braking and accelerating leads to even more consumption.

3. Then you can gladly introduce 130 km/h on the highways because then you can drive much faster.

That is actually the feed-in quantity for "two-way meters". Mine does that too. Only the feed-in amount is very good at the moment.

Freight transport by rail only works if a lot needs to be moved from A to B and there are tracks there. If you have 100 companies bringing goods by truck to the station and then distributing them again by truck, you cause costs and the duration is extended. Certainly, this works in terms of volume for some industrial companies, but the just-in-time process must be partially changed. For example, electronic parts from factory A come once a month by a whole freight train to factory B, not daily 1 truck and 2 if needed. I would not widen the tracks. Why not simply make the trains longer like in the USA?

I drive a lot in Switzerland and can only say, it is much more pleasant to drive there. Whoever was in the mirror 30 seconds ago is still there now. Also, traffic just flows more smoothly than in Germany. By the way, Switzerland also managed to ensure that the entire right lane is not full of trucks. They invested a lot of money for this, and besides the well-known Gotthard Base Tunnel, there is also the Lötschberg Base Tunnel, which more or less connects directly to the Simplon Tunnel to Italy. The problem is that the freight trains then get stuck at the German border because the connecting lines have not been expanded here at home. The same goes for the Brenner Base Tunnel, by the way. Its completion is foreseeable, and now it becomes apparent that routes in Bavaria would also need to be expanded (which, by the way, they contractually committed to).
