Siemens Energy wants to establish hydrogen as a core business and thereby also power ships. Shortly after the announcement, Berlin also declared it will invest in hydrogen. I see this as a boost for innovation and better than any tax.

What does a nuclear propulsion with questionable operation and nuclear waste have to do with hydrogen? The comparison is flawed.

Climate protection cannot be carried out individually or nationally. CO2 has no flag. You either succeed or you don’t – but success happens only through the cooperation of all the big players. Or then just not. "Each to their own" is synonymous with "then just not." You have to face a death.

Well, then it doesn’t happen. As long as the big players really don’t participate, there’s no need for us to rush forward. Especially not if it worsens international competitiveness. And the idea of the pioneer doesn’t work either. What other countries then see is a Germany that shoots itself out “of the game” through idealism. Competitiveness will decline, prosperity will fade. And precisely that is what other countries perceive as the negative consequence of environmental protection.
