We too. I have put the topic on hold for now. We also had an offer, with which I would have needed at least 80% self-sufficiency with a 20-year financing to break even. I will never achieve that, so it makes no sense for me to cover up my great tiles at the moment.
In 4 years, a new car will be due. If there is something suitable in the e-sector by then, I will recalculate.

My crystal ball says that in 4 years, for a new car, the photovoltaic system with 10 kWp will be listed as an option for €2000, otherwise the car will be unsellable

That would be great, because I still have a nice east-west gable roof on the carport :)
By the way, it's a serious consideration of mine to install photovoltaics there if prices become somewhat reasonable again sometime and an electric car drives self-consumption accordingly. Actually, I had planned to expand the photovoltaics a bit more... but the electrician was a bit hesitant about the additional cost at the last appointment and when I then read the prices here...

I had it in the wrong thread, so here again:

So with us, the house calls from the craftsmen (for the purpose of an offer or measurement) proceed as follows:

He arrives in his Mercedes, expresses sympathy that we are renovating at the worst possible time ("2 years ago you would have been 30% cheaper"), sighs that it is not so great for him right now either (I believe that too), shrugs "it won't get any cheaper."

cheap
From Porsche Panamera at the heating engineer, over SQ7 at the plasterer, and Porsche Cayenne at the tiler, I have seen it all.
I always wonder: wouldn’t the customer just agree immediately if the craftsman simply came in a Caddy or Crafter?

We live in Germany after all and here the car is a reflection of character.
Whether the person works 70 hours a week for it, or exploits his employees, nobody cares.

That one can become quite wealthy in the craftsman trade is nothing new. Only those who are craftsmen have it tough ;-)
