My amateurish assessment: I don’t see any price decline. The order books are full and the energy crisis does its part. There is also a certain feeling of partial self-sufficiency. The trend towards heat pump heating systems and electric vehicles supports this as well. High demand rarely goes hand in hand with a price drop. But maybe someone else knows more?
Huh? The current prices are driven by scarcity (chip/semiconductor crisis) and panic buying, because everyone believes that energy will stay at the current level for the next 10 years and people buy at any price, as long as they are still in the game. Currently, there is such heavy investment in the semiconductor industry that a chip glut is already expected by the middle of the decade.
And if energy prices do indeed remain at this level, you don’t need to worry about photovoltaics or heat pumps anyway. Because then in 5 years, the German industry will be gone and with it the well-paid jobs that made photovoltaics, heat pumps, and electric cars affordable in the first place.
PS: When will the photovoltaic systems ordered today be delivered? Heat pumps apparently have a delivery time of about 10 months by now.
