The statement from our main contractor is: "I hope/assume to be able to keep the price. If anything, it will be moderately more expensive." No idea how he calculated that.

I’ve never heard of that either and it doesn’t make sense to me from a security perspective... but whatever. We have a LAN socket in every room (except WC/bathroom), even in the hallway, but only use two of them. I installed MESH instead.

Ditto, see above. I only know it as that they can connect to WLAN everywhere, but only via VPN. From a security perspective, it doesn’t matter whether the connection is via WLAN or cable; it’s about encrypting the data transmission.

But you don’t have to overdo it either - sockets aren’t that beautiful after all!

How is that supposed to look?
Coffee machine, toaster, egg cooker, blender, food processor, knife, sandwich toaster, handheld vacuum cleaner, kettle +? are permanently plugged in?

For us it’s just the coffee machine and kettle, the rest is put away.

And no, at night you don’t have to charge anything at all anymore, because nowadays 90% of all devices are fully charged within 1 hour.
Wake up in the morning and plug in, usually full when leaving the house. But with HO currently it doesn’t matter anyway.

We don’t have 90 sqm living/dining area :D

So there are 3 sockets on the back wall. Connected to them are a TV, the Chromecast stick, and the refrigerator. 3 at the kitchen counter. Connected to them are a coffee machine, a kettle, and usually one free. It is then used temporarily for devices like a blender, toaster, or other kitchen appliances. For that, I would have preferably installed 5. Under the sink is a double socket for dishwasher and instantaneous water heater.

Above the cabinets is a 4-row socket for the lighting transformers of the kitchen. On the side a 5-row power strip for laptop, phones, tablet, etc. On another wall I have again 2 x 2 sockets for vacuum cleaner, ironing board etc. Then 3 more extra, which are mostly free. Usually the WLAN extender goes there. As said, the kitchen is about 30 sqm and there are not many free sockets left. I think 18 sockets are not enough at all. I believe there were even 24. At least 18 are visible.

We permanently have more and more electrical gadgets and devices. A socket costs 5 euros from Busch & Jäger. I don’t need to save on that. Of course, if you have to pay 150 euros per socket to your general contractor, then you have a problem.
