There we are exactly on the right track. Instead of fossil fuels, food is now increasingly being burned. My neighbor, the farmer in town, has ordered a new environmentally friendly heating system. It is quite expensive, but that is not so bad, since there are subsidies from the government here. The heating system costs about 50k. It will be a grain heating system. It burns wheat, barley, rye, and in a pinch also oats. Apparently completely in the spirit of our Green climate saviors. And just around the corner there is also a bioethanol factory. They also make biofuel from grain for the green conscience. Thousands of biogas plants complete the ecological picture. Food is also burned there. And all in the name of the environment. As long as we burn food, no one should complain about rising food prices or shortages.

What could one possibly do there ... hmm *ponder* ;-)

Maybe question the "usually" once. In the case of an air-water heat pump, that could even have efficiency advantages (higher outside temperature during the day)

This works in well-insulated buildings. But not in existing buildings. If I turn off the heating at night in my rental place, I have 15°C the next morning on cold nights.

But precisely this existing building stock is supposed to only be allowed to install heat pumps from 2024 onwards if the old heating system breaks down.

Well, this regulation will not exist for a year. But at the moment, it is the legal situation.

It's not a problem at all, after all, electricity comes from the socket ;)

I had already dismantled my sockets several times and searched for the power station in the wall. So far, always without success. I have also never been able to catch the elves who live in the wall and change the lemons (from 5 lemons in a row you get 8V)...

For our purchased terraced house built to KFW 55 standard, a recirculation hood is planned in the kitchen due to energy efficiency. I assumed that during the shell construction phase, I could request a core drill hole for an exhaust hood as a special request. The developer refuses this, referring to the building specification. Are they not allowed to do this because of energy efficiency and post-acceptance? What is the best way to proceed? I suspect that doing this afterwards involves greater effort in terms of insulation, etc. How does it look regarding warranty if I do it myself after handover? Can someone give me some useful tips?
