I too view the development with concern. Please keep in mind that the majority of people here in the forum are higher earners who generally already have low energy costs due to new constructions and could easily afford even a doubling of those costs. I find it worrying when a federal state wants to prepare heated halls for people, and the extreme left and right wings demonstrate on the same issue, if not together. That certainly gathers a considerable potential. Putting NS2 into operation would be a capitulation to Putin. That will not happen politically. Whether Putin looks like a liar to others doesn’t bother him. He already is seen that way. Honestly, I currently cannot imagine a solution either. It probably really only works through reducing consumption.
Furthermore, an 8k household income in such a metropolitan region is certainly not a rare income, even if you would probably already be among the top 10% nationwide in Germany.
