I met a new neighbor in the construction area yesterday who was out of his fixed price and has now received the supplement: €315k instead of €270k including his wishes

But materially it always depends on what I compare. Do I compare the 140 sqm house with the 50 sqm apartment? Do I compare the house in the countryside with the apartment in the big city, or vice versa? I can only say for myself that I would not find a rental apartment for the money I currently pay for the house. Therefore, I now even have the opportunity to save even more to achieve even higher returns. Moreover, the value of the house has increased by about 200,000 over the 7 years. There's no better return anywhere else.

Then sell your place and buy something new, otherwise you won't benefit from your book gain ;) You only realize a return once you sell the thing.

That is correct. But then I would have to rent afterwards to also benefit from the returns. A new purchase would more than eat up the returns due to the increased costs :p

Today there is an article in the Tagesschau. The construction industry expects a significant decline in sales. It is about 5%. Residential construction is strongly affected. The problems that are also repeatedly discussed here are addressed: inflation, construction prices, interest rate increase, energy costs - as a killer combination for builders.

Yesterday I spoke with my neighbor (old house) because the tanker truck was parked in front of the door. The liter of oil at the bargain price of €1.7 o_O I therefore doubt whether oil heating is still really a good alternative to gas (my oil supply in the old house will easily last until the handover, rather until spring. That’s why I’m quickly crossing my fingers three times)
