The "starting" price will refer to non-rectified tiles. And he will be able to lay these as well as rectified ones—only: with rectified tiles it takes him longer because more careful work is required. Especially with the substrate (small height differences are more noticeable with small joints) but also with the laying itself: of course, with a 5 mm joint you will accept 6 mm sometimes, but with 1.5 mm joints, a tile with 2.5 mm and the next one with 0.5 mm joint just looks plain bad...For my DIY tile projects, non-rectified tiles were recommended to me because imperfections are less noticeable, but I am just an amateur. One would expect a professional to be able to do this properly as a trained tiler; I am not paying extra for that :eek:.
