But the electricity and gas price brake will surely come in time for winter 2023 (December 23). Until then, it just has to be bridged thanks to Habeck’s good economic policy. And so that you don’t always pay the same high electricity price, the nuclear power plants will now also be phased out in the spring. Then the electricity price brake will at least pay off, which will be co-financed by all those who feed their solar power into the grid and pay the high taxes.

Does anyone believe they will be spared from the increases? The suppliers will just get it back later from those who still have a price freeze. It's not like a supplier has also purchased the electricity or fuels for a 24-month price freeze contract for 24 months themselves.

Although I don't consider 117 to 228 EUR dramatic either. There are completely different stories...

Well, my increases for electricity were in July (51 cents), August (69 cents), and September (54 cents). Since October, again < 34 cents. I pay for what I consume each month.

Then I am curious to see what it will look like in January/February, when hardly any photovoltaics feed in and usually little wind blows, the heat pumps are roaring at -5°C, and gas, at least for electricity generation, is no longer available because it must be saved...

At that point, even 1 EUR/kWh is not unrealistic if the supplier buys on the spot market.

The real crisis is yet to come anyway. This year we were supplied with Russian gas until the summer... that will not happen in 2023.

Well, you can still hope that such a company oriented towards the common good with 100% municipal participation (Berliner Wasserbetriebe = institution under public law) that is also a producer itself and not just a pure trader, does things differently somehow.

Which provider? Is that something like Tibber?

Just did the electricity comparison as well. It’s really incredible how boldly everyone actually exceeds the cap. You really notice what a lousy idea such a cap is.
