Crazy. I can't imagine that the single-family house construction boom will continue to hold up because of this. Considering the order books, it has to crash hard by the end of 2022 at the latest.
We were also thinking about building about half a year ago... We could have gotten a nice plot for 30k including ancillary purchase costs, but even then we were already hesitant because of the total costs. Shortly after, the topic was completely discarded as interest rates rose so rapidly. In the meantime, it's been settled anyway thanks to the great offer of an existing house, but now we actually couldn't build anymore otherwise.
