I haven’t googled for five minutes, but so far all statistics show me that construction costs also increased in the 90s (see attached graphic). So unlike , I don’t believe that it will become cheaper again for the average homeowner. Even if material prices should fall again, the increased energy costs, labor costs, and interest rates will not be compensated. And looking back shows that construction costs have never significantly fallen. If you find other statistics on the topic, I’d be happy to take a look.

I'm glad that we switched our house from condominium division and district heating to real division and air-water heat pump :o

I spoke with friends today who live in a beautiful old house from Anno Knack here in the village. Currently, their heating costs are 580€ / month...

Crazy…
I know someone personally who has completely turned off his gas heating and uses the changing rooms at work for showering. For the winter, he bought a wood stove and only wants to use that for heating.

There were times for quite a few.

The problem with the wood stove is that you need wood for it. Prices have also exploded there, if you can even find a wood dealer who will supply you. The available firewood can't be increased that quickly, and because now everyone wants to fill up their storage...

Sounds plausible. For what reason should construction costs decrease? Prices simply remain at the level and stagnate rather than decrease. We still have to watch the interest rates; currently, everything points to a recession.
