Biden has publicly stated that Taiwan will be defended. And Biden is, like all presidents except Trump, not someone who just talks casually. Especially not on such a topic. It was also not denied or softened afterwards.

In addition, China is much more dangerous than Russia. Russia is finished in the end, the sanctions and the war will ruin it in the medium term. China, on the other hand, is catching up technologically, albeit slowly and at a qualitatively low level, but they are making progress.

That is also where the danger lies. Only about 10% of all chips come from China. China also massively imports microchips, especially the latest generations, which the Middle Kingdom cannot produce; they are still 2-3 generations behind.

That also makes Taiwan a target for China. A war will therefore likely become inevitable if the regime in China is not overthrown.

I apologize in advance that I have to interrupt again, especially now that the thread has somewhat gotten back on track, but..

is complete nonsense and I therefore cannot just let that stand. No idea how you come up with the crazy idea to write such rubbish.
Many parents and, as the last pages here show, the majority of the thread participants believe that no spelling awareness is developed during the 1st/2nd grade and fail to recognize the fact that the alphabetic strategy represents a huge step in learning written language, the blunt "today we learn the letter I, tomorrow M and then read and " is very demotivating especially for high-achieving children.

The apology is more than appropriate, because such amateur writing helps no one. Do you have any kind of pedagogical training? If not, please keep quiet... if you want information about the chimney, you ask the chimney sweep and not the primary school teacher... unfortunately, the reverse is less established. Everyone feels born to be a teacher, every child is gifted...

After my post, do I really have to rub in your face that I am a professional? A direct manner in private and in the forum is fine, but what you brag about at regular intervals here is often way over the top. Especially considering that you are a builder who was really so stupid to sign a work contract without even owning land. Best regards.

I have already mentioned that I switched to the "dark side of the Force," meaning after studying (not for teaching) and working in another profession, I made a lateral entry into the school service. At a comprehensive school, location type 5 (in non-official German: weak social environment). Physics and Chemistry, from grade 6 up to the Abitur. Special needs students of all colours in the middle school inclusive classes. Class sizes are not below 28 students below the upper school level. An interesting balancing act. I never get bored anymore, although the subject matter is completely banal. The challenges lie somewhere else.

One challenge is parents. From some contributions here in the thread, it becomes clear why and that this is not limited to "educationally disadvantaged" families but can also be found among education-conscious parents who build houses…

Maybe someone will eventually start a thread where this fits better thematically. My fingers are itching.
