Ditto. We were also very skeptical about painter’s fleece. Such a thing is unknown in our country of origin (Poland). There, they usually work with smooth or fine plaster, so the walls can be painted afterwards. That was originally what we wanted as well. Unfortunately, the acquaintance had no available appointments. But when we were painting and saw the result (Q2 + painter’s fleece), we were convinced.

Why not simply sand down and paint Q3? [Vlies] is really unnecessary and expensive.

The question is how good Q3 will be. You can also paint Q2 after filling and sanding. However, you will see the texture changes between filler and plaster.

Fleece acts as a crack bridging layer and with point loads you don’t immediately see every dent. Standard Knauf MP75 plaster is relatively soft. In any case, fleece has its justification. Unfortunately, I only did that on the upper floor, applied Q4 filler, and then 190g fiberglass fleece. At the time of the ground floor, I unfortunately couldn’t get any people.

The problem with fleece is that it cannot be repaired if a settlement crack does occur. I have a large crack in two rooms, where the fleece has torn as well. It can only be properly fixed by sanding down the entire wall.

In the course of the repair, I will switch to [Rollputz]. It has other disadvantages but can at least be repaired locally.
