Not necessarily double. But a 20% increase can easily be pushed through, with reference to the tight budgets.

However, it hurts very few in the corresponding small communities, at least as long as the taxes here are not currently extremely lower than in other similarly rural areas... My parents are currently paying around 300€ property transfer tax (approx. 750sqm plot, house with about 200sqm living space) ... Then it is just 360... the 5€ more per month should be manageable.

In Berlin? With by far the lowest homeownership rate of 15%? You must be joking! RRG can even score points with high levies among their clientele. There are also increasing efforts on this side to no longer allow property tax to be passed on to tenants.

Just checked: I pay for 823 sqm of land (municipality in Lower Saxony, standard land value 350), living space 170 sqm (2 apartments each 85 sqm) currently in property tax B (550%) 765 euros per year.

Unfortunately, I can't find the average standard land value anywhere. Therefore, I calculate with different values:

Average 300: 622 euros
Average 250: 659 euros
Average 100: 868 euros

Interesting matter

Yes, that might be the case. On the other hand, there is not only the Berlin House of Representatives but also the district elections. With the largest single-family home settlement area in Europe, that is naturally already relevant in the districts. Although I believe the districts are traditionally conservative anyway, I haven't looked that closely yet.

How are they supposed to prevent the passing on? Then it just goes into the rent instead of the additional costs, and those are already rising like crazy anyway.
Politics really hasn't understood that in the end the consumer pays for everything.
