no one said to buy that stuff regardless of the price anyway ;) In the past, most systems were sold and installed at mostly acceptable prices. So they will pay off sooner or later. At the moment, not only the prices for photovoltaic components are going crazy. But since this is usually an option that can also be omitted, people will probably often do without it at the current prices. (but there do seem to be a few exceptions) Hopefully it will regulate itself again for everyone, but in the short term I’m rather pessimistic.

And yes, if you have seen systems wired by industrial electricians and “normal” electricians, you know what was talking about... (My sister works in a company that builds machines ...)

Yes. But I understand a forum as a place to give advice at the current time and not just to talk about how great things were 15 years ago.

Currently, it is madness to acquire photovoltaics if you don't have the money lying around uselessly somewhere, but have to finance it. Period ;)

PS:
I travel a lot in Sweden, in the industry. Even many industrial electricians would struggle there. They sometimes demand absurd meticulousness... well, another topic ;)

Why don’t you take rising electricity prices into account? If the purchase price of the photovoltaic system rises, but at the same time electricity prices, which will continue to rise over the next 25 years, I believe that even at today’s prices, photovoltaics are worthwhile...

I completely agree with you. And prices will rise anyway due to the annually increasing CO2 price. In our family circle, we have put several 600Wp balcony power systems into operation this year. These are very small systems, but the purchase price is manageable and they can be installed by yourself without much effort. The systems pay for themselves within a few years at the current electricity prices.

But even here I notice that prices have already risen by up to 30% compared to spring. Do the systems still pay off? From my point of view, definitely!

The same applies to large photovoltaic systems. Here I hope that bidirectional charging of electric cars will soon be allowed in Germany. Then I can charge my car during the day with electricity from the photovoltaic system (in that case a large one) and at night the car would supply the electricity back. This would at least theoretically make it possible to get by completely without purchased electricity and no additional battery storage would need to be bought. And yes, the battery of our hybrid with 18kWh would be enough to power our household fully for about three days.

That is true on one hand. On the other hand, your posts always imply that there are currently only exorbitant offers that do not pay off, which simply is not true. and I are two examples from your direct forum environment.

We have already discussed this topic. The first question would be how much warranty you get if you also use the electric car battery for household purposes. The second very important question would be the durability of the battery. Constant charging and discharging will reduce the lifespan, and then the question is whether it is still worthwhile?
