Maybe, at Bauking it was 3.30 net and just now at a medium-sized hardware store 4.18. That wasn’t really my point, but I think two years ago the bag was 2.69. That’s about the 50% too.

ex IFO:

The shortage of materials in construction is as severe as it has been for at least 31 years. In building construction, the proportion of companies reporting shortages in a survey by the Ifo Institute increased by 2.4 points to 56.6 percent...
[I]Construction steel, often imported from Russia or Ukraine, is currently particularly scarce. There are also problems with bitumen. In some places, companies have also complained about a shortage of bricks. Insulation materials were already in short supply in many areas before the war began, but the situation has further deteriorated here as well...
"Material prices continue to rise due to scarcity and higher energy costs," said Leiss. In building construction, a large majority of companies according to Ifo reported having recently revised prices upwards. Furthermore, further adjustments are often planned for the coming months..."Due to rising construction costs and higher interest rates, there are now more and more order cancellations, especially in residential construction,"

Ex BR, here about new development areas in Bodenmais and Frauenau in the Bavarian Forest

The demand for the total of 16 building plots was high. The municipality allocated the plots according to a points system, giving preference to families with children. But now eight families, i.e. half, have surprisingly given up their plot reservations and canceled their down payments – including the Vogel family. Although they had agreed on a fixed price for the house construction with the construction company, the interest rates for the bank loan have meanwhile risen.

"We had always calculated with a monthly burden of 1,100 to 1,200 euros for the repayment of the loan, over a term of at least 25 years. We could have managed that. But the last offer was now at 1,560 euros per month. That is simply too much for us. We would have had to work only for the house," says 32-year-old Sandra Vogel... Also in the municipality of Frauenau, six building plots were recently surprisingly returned to the municipality for the new development area "Hirschgarten." Here too, the demand was huge: around 50 applicants applied in 2021 for the 37 plots in the idyllic outskirts location. The price was also fair: around 85 euros per square meter in "Hirschgarten," fully developed.

Seems like the very end of the republic, except a 0 is missing at the 50.

The other day I was at the lumber trade, it's actually getting better.

A quick look at Google Maps (the new development area is very clearly visible in the photo) shows that there is a piece of forest and then you are already in the Czech Republic.
