So I wash about 4-6 loads per week (depending on whether with or without bedding). Unfortunately. With animals, children, etc., it simply can't be avoided. But I now also have hanging spots for winter and the dryer basically just takes up space.

Caution, air drying in the KfW house can even consume MORE energy than a modern heat pump dryer. Because the damp laundry cools the room air, simultaneously increases the humidity, and one is quickly forced to ventilate extensively. What escapes with the room heat must be reheated by the heating system.

I doubt that. You have the heat pump with 1:4, plus ventilation with 80-90% heat recovery. The dryer can hardly be better than that and if it is, it is quite high-end and expensive to purchase. By the way, air drying is not necessarily indoors, we dry all year round outside on the covered balcony. In calm + fog, you have to bring it inside after 2 days, but otherwise no problem.

People are going all in for 500k+ on a prefab house and there is a discussion about the electricity costs of really good time-saving household appliances.

Insulating the garden shed and 'overwintering' there will probably only be presented as a solution next winter.

I also always have to laugh these days when people in my surroundings discuss turning off the 3 watt LED lamp while the 30-year-old heating is booming in the basement.
